House is a transitional living residence for adult women discharged from inpatient rehabilitation with a minimum of days clean time. Each woman must have a sincere desire to remain clean and a willingness to work a program toward regaining a wholesome lifestyle. At the time, Edith was experiencing depression while facing the economic challenges of being a teen mom. After a friend introduced her to Hope House Boston, Edith felt the encouragement she needed to move forward with her life and build a healthy future for herself and her son.

Stephanie grew up in generational poverty, became a mom as a teenager and dropped out of school. She was sleeping with her baby girl on a couch in a crowded mobile home. At the age of 16, he revealed his sexuality to his mother and she made him leave the house. He was already abusing substances and that led to a 25 year journey of homelessness. While washing dishes and with housing help from his aunt, he obtained an apartment. However, the pressure of keeping up with rent and a life of drugs and “partying” ultimately led to bouts of homelessness and a positive HIV diagnosis in 2014.

Six months later, Janelle had earned her GED and had found her own confidence. With the support of our College & Career Program, Janelle applied to the Community College of Denver and began working toward a certification in machining. Janelle and her boys eventually became homeless — sleeping in a car, on the ground, or in homeless shelters.
Our goal is to provide temporary living in a structured, smoke free, substance free, safe environment. We will render goal supportive services consisting of empowerment counseling, mentoring by faith oriented community women, and adult living education. Staff of H.O.P.E.E. House will assist each woman with focusing on her recovery and gaining a new way of life. Each woman will be given the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to build a rich and full life … abstinence is just the beginning.
Hope House Boston also helped her get a car, a paid internship with Jefferson County and an apartment. By age 14, Janelle was pregnant, and that same boyfriend became abusive, leaving her with bruises make-up couldn’t cover. By the time Joseph was born, Janelle had stopped going to school. During residency at H.O.P.E.E. House we will lovingly break through the barriers which keep the women feeling alone and isolated. Our 16-bed program is operated out of two side-by-side homes in a residential neighborhood. We reserve up to 4 beds for individuals who are pregnant or with infants (clients care for their own child while enrolled).
